GATEL, a Visabeira Global company based in France and specializing in engineering works in the most diverse types of infrastructures, with extensive experience in the installation of large cables, inaugurated a new stage in its business path by establishing an important partnership with SPIE NUCLÉAIRE. This French company specializes in the design, renovation, operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants. Under the frame of this new agreement, GATEL has been carrying out a test work since October at the Paluel Nuclear Power Plant, in the French Region of Normandy. This has led GATEL to promote several training sessions, in order to fully prepare its technicians to work in nuclear environments. The electric and fibre-optic cables GATEL is installing, with a total length of 26 km, will be used to power and control the plant’s emergency cooling circuits. This work will serve as a gauge for profitability, execution times and possible areas for improvement. EDF – Électricité de France, is the project’s end client.
